We want to stay connected and forward-looking during this time of stress and waiting. Hope is a powerful cure to fear. Let’s look forward together:
Easter is coming up Sunday, April 12. You can help decorate the worship center by ordering flowers. We’ve been announcing that the form AND payment are due this coming Sunday, March 22. Obviously that would be difficult. If you want to order flowers, you can the button below to fill out the online form. We will order the flowers and you can pay for your flowers once we all get back together.

We have been watching the spread of COVID-19, also called coronavirus, for three months now. Weeks ago, cases began to occur in the United States. Recently it arrived in Pennsylvania and closed all schools in Montgomery county. Whitehall school was closed on Thursday (yesterday) because of a possible case. Today, Governor Wolf announced the closure of all Pennsylvania schools until March 27th. President Trump also announced a state of emergency for the nation. These indicators show our church elders that this illness is serious and we should all cooperate with our government leaders to help stop its spread. Many BFC churches across the Lehigh Valley have already announced temporary closures, along with many like-minded churches in our region.
Given all these factors, be advised of the following actions:
- All church-wide events are cancelled until Saturday, March 28, 2020. There will be a time of worship, prayer, and Scripture on the church website and facebook at 10:15am these two Sundays.
- Church-wide events include worship, Sunday Schools, children and youth events like AWANA, life groups, prayer meeting, Hunger Initiative meal ministry, and all other functions.
- Some teams may desire to gather volunteers for work projects, but the elders encourage each volunteer to use their own discretion and only if feeling fully healthy.
We encourage you to continue your financial support of the church’s ministry during this time. You can mail a check to the church, or give online. Some of our expenses are lowered due to this closure, but many (like mortgage, salaries, missions commitments) continue as normal.
This is a solemn time for our nation and the world. We call on you to pray for a quick end to this disease, the preservation of health and life, and to also pray for all in authority and the medical community. We also encourage you, as followers of our Sovereign God, to remember that we all are at all times in His caring grip. He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Grace in our Lord Jesus!
