Leadership

In Acts 20, we read “he sent to Ephesus and called to him the elders of the church. And when they had come to him, he said to them, ‘Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood'” (v17-18, 28).

We see in this that God, the Holy Spirit chooses a plurality of leaders which are given the title “Elders”.  He assigns them the vital task of shepherding / pastoring the congregation.  In our church, both staff pastors and volunteer leaders are elders together.
